SFH leads delegation to visit Taichung
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will depart for Taichung
tomorrow afternoon (July 30) for a duty visit. The visit will include
leading a Hong Kong delegation to attend the Hong Kong-Taichung intercity
forum and visiting Chinese medicine facilities. The Hong Kong delegation
will comprise members of the Chinese Medicine Development Committee.
In the morning on July 31, Dr Ko will lead the Hong Kong delegation to
attend the 2014 Hong Kong-Taichung Intercity Forum to be held in Taichung
and co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office
(Taiwan) and the Taichung City Government. With one of the themes being
"Inheriting traditional essence . Pioneering medical highlights", Dr Ko will
deliver a speech in the forum to introduce the direction and long-term
strategy of Hong Kong in promoting the development of Chinese medicine
services.
In the afternoon of the same day, Dr Ko and the delegation will visit China
Medical University in Taichung. They will visit the museum on traditional
Chinese medicine and a laboratory of Hong Kong Chinese Materia Medica
Standards in the university, as well as the Department of the Traditional
Chinese Medicine of the China Medical University Hospital. They will also
call on the Chancellor of the university and relevant personnel.
In the morning on Friday (August 1), Dr Ko and the delegation will visit a
factory of a Chinese medicines manufacturer and Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital.
Dr Ko and the delegation will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on
Friday.
