SFH to visit Macau
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will depart for
Macau tomorrow morning (July 31) to visit primary health-care
facilities, a hospital's acute care and rehabilitation service, and
a Chinese medicine research centre.
During the visit, Dr Ko will call on Macau's Secretary for Social
Affairs and Culture, Mr Cheong U, and the Director of the Health
Bureau, Dr Lei Chin-ion, to exchange views on public health issues
and matters of mutual concern, strengthening ties between the two
places.
Health-care establishments to be visited by Dr Ko will include an
outlying island acute care services centre and the integrated
community medical centre of the Conde de São Januário General
Hospital. The acute care services centre provides 24-hour emergency
medical services while the integrated community medical centre
receives patients from Conde de São Januário General Hospital's
medical wards, nerve internal medicine department and department of
orthopaedics who are in stable condition and are expected to return
to the community in two weeks.
In the afternoon, Dr Ko will visit a traditional Chinese medicine
science and technology park in Hengqin. He will tour an exhibition
hall to learn more about the latest developments in business
promotion and major projects on traditional Chinese medicine. Dr Ko
will then visit an elderly health centre in Taipa Island to see for
himself Macau's elderly health-care facilities.
He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow night.
