SFH to attend WHO Western Pacific Regional Meeting
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will leave for Vietnam on
Sunday evening (September 23) to attend the 63rd session of the World Health
Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for the Western Pacific in Hanoi on
September 24.
The meeting will discuss public health challenges that confront the region.
Key issues for discussion include nutrition, violence and injury prevention,
tobacco control, prevention of non-communicable disease, measles
elimination, malaria, and other neglected tropical diseases.
On the margins of the meeting, Dr Ko will also meet the Singapore's Minister
of Health, Mr Gan Kim Yong.
The Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan, will also join the Hong Kong
delegation to attend the meeting.
Dr Ko will return to Hong Kong on Tuesday afternoon (September 25).
