SFH on human swine flu vaccine

Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, at a media stand-up session before attending the International Scientific Symposium on Influenza Pandemic Response and Preparedness in Beijing this afternoon (August 21):

Reporter: What will be the next step after the Government cancelled the tender for human swine flu vaccine?

Secretary for Food and Health: This is only a procedure of the Government procurement process. Usually if in the first round of tendering exercise, there is no single supplier that can conform with the tender specifications, we can then proceed to re-tendering or a restricted tender exercise. This is what we are considering.
