Press Releases
SFH on loss of baby body at Eastern Hospital
Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) made by the
Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, at a stand-up media session
after officiating at opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association
V The University of Hong Kong Clinical Centre for Training and Research in
Chinese Medicine today (January 9):
Reporter: (Progress of the investigation)
Secretary for Food and Health: I am afraid that I do not actually have the
information that is being handled by the police. But I know that the police
have been working very hard to gather all the information available so that
they can proceed with further investigation, particularly in trying to
locate the body of the baby.
Reporter: Do you think the Hospital Authority should put out a reward for
information about the disappearance of the baby?
Secretary for Food and Health: We will try every means to gather additional
information if there is any.
Reporter: Will you consider a reward?
Secretary for Food and Health: I don't know whether that will be of benefit
at this stage because I do not know what information is being gathered by
the police. The police will decide on the best way to proceed.
