Estimated live pig imports is 4,700

In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said today (January 17) that according to information provided by the three live pig agents, the estimated number of live pig imports from the Mainland for tomorrow (January 18) is 4,700 and estimated number of local pigs is 200. The total live pig supply is 4,900.

The spokesman said that announcing the number of live pigs supplied for the following day could enhance information flow and transparency of the market. Members of the public and traders could better understand the overall supply of live pigs.
