Live pig supply remains stable
In response to press enquires, a spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said
today (January 8) that the live pig supply in Hong Kong remained stable, with an
average supply of 4 000 heads per day. The total live pig supply in Hong Kong
today is about 4 400 heads.
We understand that the imported live pig supply would remain stable in the next
few days.
In addition to live pigs, chilled pork supply is also adequate, and can be
further increased to meet market demand.
The authority would continue to keep in view the overall situation of pork
