TAVA Advisory Committee Chairman re-appointed
The Government announced today (June 30) the re-appointment of Mr Ambrose Cheung Wing-sum as Chairman of the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance (TAVA) Advisory Committee for a period of one year with effect from 1 July 2000.
A spokesman for the Health and Welfare Bureau said, "Mr Cheung has extensive knowledge of the administration of the TAVA Scheme. He will continue to make valuable contribution to the work of the Advisory Committee."
The Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Advisory Committee advises the Director of Social Welfare on all matters pertaining to the administration of the TAVA Scheme and the administration of the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Fund.
It consists of five non-official members and three ex-officio members including the Director of Social Welfare, the Director of Legal Aid or his representative, and the Commissioner of Police or his representative.
