Appointments to SLFAC announced
The Government announced today (June 13) the re-appointment of three incumbent members to the Subventions and Lotteries Fund Advisory Committee (SLFAC) for a period of one year with effect from 1 June 2000.
The three incumbent members are Mr Aaron Wan Chi-keung, Ms Wendy Wu Kit-ying and Mr Henry Lau King-chiu. They have been serving on the Committee for two years.
Mr Aaron Wan chi-keung is actively involved in a wide range of community services. He is a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee and a member of the Kwai Tsing District Council.
Ms Wendy Wu Kit-ying is the Service Co-ordinator of the children and youth service of the Salvation Army. Ms Wu has extensive experience of youth services and knowledge of the operation of welfare agencies.
Mr Henry Lau King-chiu is an architect by profession and will be able to provide valuable advice on technical building issues at Committee meetings.
A Government spokesman said, "The members draw together experience from front-line social workers, professionals with building and architectural expertise, as well as members of the public with extensive community service."
Together with the eight incumbent members : Mr Darwin Chen, Mr Wong Che-ming, Dr Leung Man-fuk, Miss Nancy Tsang, Mr Vincent Lo Wing-sang, Dr Angelina Yuen Tsang Woon-ki, Mr Tung Chi-fat and Dr William Lo Wing-yan, the SLFAC will continue to advise on applications from welfare agencies for subventions from pubic funds, for allocations from the Lotteries Fund and for permission to hold flag days.
