SFH on Medical Registration (Amendment) Bill 2016

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function today (July 10):

Reporter: In light of the filibustering, if the bill is not passed, you have to start all over again in the next legislative session. Do you have a plan B if this happens?

Secretary for Food and Health: We are still very positive at this moment. We will do our best in the remaining few days. Firstly, we will communicate with all those who are in support of the Medical Registration (Amendment) Bill 2016 and make sure that there will be an adequate quorum present in the chamber at any time to ensure the filibustering initiative would not be effective. At the same time, we will continue to communicate with and to convince those who are against or still have reservations about the amendment bill.
