Press Releases
SFH on charges of Accident and Emergency Department
Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and
Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending the International Forum on the
Development of Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Hospital today (March 12):
Reporter: (on Accident and Emergency charges)
Secretary for Food and Health: There are proposals from the community that
the Government should consider raising the charges for using Accident and
Emergency (A&E) Department because the $100-charge has been fixed since
2002. It has been more than 13 years that we have not adjusted the A&E
charge. However, the Government has not yet decided on such a move.

Chinese portion of the transcript.)
