Appointments to the Liquor Licensing Board

A spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau announced today (December 24) that the Chief Executive has made appointments to the Liquor Licensing Board (the Board) for a term of two years from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2017.

Mr Stephen Yau How-boa has been re-appointed as Chairman and Dr James Wong Kong-tin has been appointed as Vice-Chairman. Five other serving members have been re-appointed and four persons have been appointed as new members.

The four new members are Mrs Tennessy Lee Hui Mei-sheung, Ms Kenny Lee Kwun-yee, Mr Alan Lo Yeung-kit and Mr Tam Siu-sing.

"The composition represents a balanced mix of members from diverse backgrounds including social welfare, legal, catering, business and accountancy, with some possessing knowledge of district affairs. In considering liquor licensing issues, the Board will be able to benefit from their wise counsel and expertise.

"The Government would like to express its gratitude to the outgoing Vice-Chairman, Dr Kong Wai-yeung, and three outgoing members, namely Mr Shum Hon-wo, Mr Simon Wong Ka-wo and Mr Simon Wong Kit-lung, for their staunch support to the Board. All of them will have served on the Board for six years by the end of the current term."
