Press Releases
SFH on seasonal influenza and drinking water safety
Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and
Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after watching legislators receive influenza
vaccination at the Legislative Council Complex today (December 2):
Reporter: (About the late arrival of the winter influenza peak season.)
Secretary for Food and Health: This year, the arrival of winter is a little
bit late. The ambient temperature throughout November is historically high.
Whether it would affect the situation of the winter seasonal influenza
epidemic is still to be seen.
Reporter: (About the quality of water supplied to Hong Kong.)
Secretary for Food and Health: According to the information from the Water
Supplies Department, all along we have a very stringent mechanism to monitor
the quality of water supplied to the public from the reservoirs and the
Mainland. Up to this moment, the monitoring results show that the water
quality meets the American as well as the British standards.

Chinese portion of the transcript.)
