Applications invited for Research Fellowship Scheme
The Health and Medical Research Fund, administered by the Food and Health
Bureau, has launched the Research Fellowship Scheme to support researchers
or professionals in their early to mid-career to enhance their skills in
health and medical research. The scheme invites applications for the first
time starting from today (August 24).
The grant ceiling per award is $1.2 million inclusive of $200,000 for
training. Tertiary institutions funded by the University Grants Committee
can each nominate up to three fellowship applicants. Each applicant can only
submit one application.
The application should cover two components:
* A local or overseas training course/attachment relating to health services
or public health, in particular public health policy topics; and
* A research project relating to the proposed training.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview. Applications will
be subject to peer review. The vetting will take into account the capability
of the applicant and his/her performance at the interview, support by a
mentor and administering institution, and the importance of the training
proposal and its relevancy to the proposed research project. The proposed
research project will be evaluated on its scientific merit, local relevance,
translational potential/value, value for money of the proposals, research
ethics and track record of the applicant.
The deadline for applications is 6pm (Hong Kong time) on October 9, 2015.
