SFH on Middle East Respiratory Syndrome

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending the kick-off ceremony of the "Keep Clean 2015@Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign today (August 1):

Reporter: (on Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS))

Secretary for Food and Health: The Government has issued a Red Outbound Travel Alert for Korea since June 9 because of the MERS situation there. We have since then closely monitored the situation of the epidemic in Korea. Up to today, the Korean health authority has not reported any new confirmed MERS cases for 28 consecutive days, therefore we have accordingly removed the Red Outbound Travel Alert for Korea.
