Press Releases
SFH on MERS
Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and
Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a function today (May 30):
Reporter: (on update of the situation of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome
(MERS))
Secretary for Food and Health: This morning, I indicated that among the 18
close contacts on the flight to Hong Kong (OZ723 of Asiana Airlines arrived
in Hong Kong on May 26), two persons refused to be quarantined at our camp.
With the assistance from the diplomatic personnel of South Korea in Hong
Kong, they finally accepted to be quarantined. This is very important
because once they are in the quarantine camp, our medical personnel from the
Centre for Health Protection will be able to chip in and conduct medical
assessment.
(Please also refer to the
Chinese portion of the transcript.)
