Press Releases
SFH on autism and constitutional development
Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and
Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function today (May 10):
Reporter: (Should somebody accompany the person with autism when he goes for
police investigation?)
Secretary for Food and Health: As I have said, I think we know that persons
with autism generally have problems with interpersonal communication. I
think it is very difficult to comment on individual case.
Reporter: Would you try to communicate with the doctors' group to convince
them?
Secretary for Food and Health: Since we all know that the Hong Kong Medical
Association is going to conduct an opinion survey, as a member of the
medical profession, I would encourage all doctors to express their views,
whether it is for or against.
(Please also refer to the
Chinese portion of the transcript.)
