SFH on seasonal influenza

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function today (April 9):

Reporter: Have we already got past the peak of the flu epidemic recently? Do you think we have enough flu jabs for the summer peak season?

Secretary for Food and Health: Yes, the additional 100,000 doses of seasonal flu vaccines have been procured. They will be delivered to us on schedule by the end of this month. The Department of Health (DH) will commence the vaccination programme in early May for the elderly residing in institutions. By the second half of May, the out-patient clinics of the DH as well as the Hospital Authority will also commence the injection programme. We hope to complete the vaccination programme by the end of June.
