SFH to attend Ministerial Meeting on Universal Health Coverage in Singapore
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will depart for Singapore
tonight (February 9) to attend the Ministerial Meeting on Universal Health
Coverage to be held on February 10 and 11.
Under the theme "The Post-2105 Challenge", the two-day meeting has been
organised by the Singapore Government to provide a platform for health
officials and academics to exchange views on various topics concerning
universal health coverage and future challenges.
Dr Ko will attend the opening ceremony of the meeting, during which the
Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr Margaret Chan, will
deliver a keynote speech.
On February 11, Dr Ko will speak on the prevention and control of
non-communicable diseases at a panel session; and will share his views on
the way forward for universal health coverage in Hong Kong at a subsequent
ministerial roundtable forum.
Accompanying Dr Ko to the meeting will be the Deputy Secretary for Food and
Health (Health) Special Duties, Mr Chris Sun, and the Assistant Director of
Health (Health Promotion), Dr Anne Fung.
Dr Ko will return to Hong Kong on the evening of February 11.
