Press Releases
SFH on supply of live chickens
Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and
Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, before attending a seminar today (January 8):
Reporter: (On communication with Ta Kwu Ling residents.)
Secretary for Food and Health: The Government maintains a very proactive
stance in seeking to communicate and explain to the residents of Ta Kwu Ling
and their representatives. I have just appointed the Under Secretary for
Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, to communicate with the Ta Kwu Ling
community. We hope to explain to them that the checkpoint at Ta Kwu Ling
would not be used for handling imported poultry from the Mainland. In fact
this is one of the major concerns (of the residents). There are other areas
we would like to explain to them and to assure them that the site will only
be used as a contingency arrangement.
(Please also refer to the
Chinese portion of the transcript.)
