Steering Committee on Review of Hospital Authority holds fifth meeting
The Steering Committee on Review of Hospital Authority (HA) held its fifth
meeting today (July 10) to discuss the subjects of training as well as
professional and service quality of the HA.
On training, Members noted that the HA, as the largest training institution
for health-care professionals in Hong Kong, has undertaken tremendous work
for the training of doctors, nurses and allied health staff. While
supporting the HA to continue to perform its role in training, Members noted
the challenges for the HA in maintaining the high quality of its training
work under the situation of manpower shortage and medical technology
advancement.
The committee also discussed the professional and service quality of the HA.
Members noted that the HA has currently put in place mechanisms and measures
to ensure its service quality through the domains of people, facilities,
technology, systems and service access.
The committee will continue with its public engagement plan. Further to the
public forum at the Henry G Leong Yaumatei Community Centre on July 7, the
committee will hold two public fora on July 14 and 19 at Tai Po Community
Centre and Causeway Bay Community Centre respectively to gauge public views.
Having regard to the views received, it will look into each subject area
further in more detail, so as to formulate recommendations for enhancing the
effective operation of the HA.
