SFH on investigation of the case involving the Head of the Division of Cardiology of the Prince of Wales Hospital

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function this morning (November 17):

Reporter: (on bringing in a new expert to the Hospital Authority's independent review committee to look into the incident of the suspension of some clinical duties of the Head of the Division of Cardiology of the Prince of Wales Hospital.)

Secretary for Food and Health: I am always of the opinion that if it is possible to invite more international experts to help in the investigation being conducted by the Hospital Authority (HA). Now that we have sought the assistance of another international expert and I am confident that this will enhance both the credibility of HA's independent review committee and its ability to review the expert panels' investigation. So I do welcome such a move.
