Hospital Authority Review Steering Committee to hold first meeting next week
The Hospital Authority (HA) Review Steering Committee will hold its
first meeting on September 25. The agenda of the meeting includes a
briefing on the existing structure, cluster arrangement and resource
allocation mechanism of HA and the challenges it faces. Members will
also discuss the scope and priority of the review.
A spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said today (September 19)
that, to enable it to consider more comprehensively the views of
frontline staff and hospitals of different sizes, the Government has
decided to appoint two additional members to the Steering Committee.
The two new members are Dr Kenneth Fu Kam-fung and Mr Pang Chak-hau.
Dr Fu is the Associate Consultant of the Department of Surgery in
the Division of Urology of Queen Mary Hospital; and Mr Pang is the
Nurse Consultant (Wound Care) of Yan Chai Hospital. Their terms of
appointment will take immediate effect and will expire upon
completion of the review.
The HA Review Steering Committee was established by the Government
on August 21 to undertake a comprehensive review of the operation of
the HA so that it is more able to meet with the challenges of a
changing society and an ageing population.
