SFH on Working Group on Differentiation between Medical Procedures and Beauty Services

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function this morning (July 7):

Secretary for Food and Health: The Working Group（on Differentiation between Medical Procedures and Beauty Services）chaired by the Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan, to differentiate the beauty procedures and treatments between medical high-risk procedures, held its last meeting on July 5. The Director of Health will summarise opinions solicited in the Working Group and make reference to overseas experiences, and submit recommendations (in a Working Group Report) to the Steering Committee (on Review of the Regulation of Private Healthcare Facilities) within the third quarter of this year. When the Steering Committee received the Working Group Report, we will decide whether to adopt these recommendations and would report the progress to the relevant services panel of the Legislative Council.
