SFH continues visit to Brazil (with photo)

The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, continued his trip to Brazil by visiting various agricultural facilities, including Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology in Brasilia, a cattle slaughtering centre and a cattle farm in Campo Grande on May 9 and 10 (Brasilia time) respectively.

Dr Chow also met the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, Mr Milton Ortolan, to exchange views on the regulation and surveillance of food safety in the two places.

After holding a meeting with representatives of Brazilian Meat Exporters Association in Sao Paulo on May 11 (Brasilia time), Dr Chow will leave for Geneva, Switzerland to call on the Director-General of the World Health Organisation, Dr Margaret Chan, and to attend the World Health Assembly.
