SFH listens to youngsters' healthcare views (with photos)
The following is issued on behalf of the Commission on Youth:
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, attended an exchange
session with youths today (December 9) to discuss the healthcare reform
proposals at the second stage consultation. The session was organised by the
Commission on Youth (COY).
Dr Chow said, "Young people are the hosts of our future. Their views are
vital to the reform and sustainable development of Hong Kong's healthcare
system. The voluntary Health Protection Scheme is a crucial part of the
inter-linked healthcare reform initiatives.
"I hope that the discussion tonight can spark off new ideas, viewpoints and
inspiration on the way forward for healthcare reform and also on the design
of the Health Protection Scheme," He added.
The Chairman of the COY, Mr Chan Chun-bun, said that the COY would continue
to organise exchange sessions and invite government representatives to
attend, so that the young people will have direct communication with them on
topics of concern.
The Youth Exchange Session was held at the Youth Square in Chai Wan.
