Appointments to Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health
The Government gazetted today (August 20) the re-appointment of Ms Lisa Lau
Man-man as Chairman, and Mr Ma Siu-leung as Vice-chairman, of the Hong Kong
Council on Smoking and Health.
Meanwhile, the re-appointment of six serving members, namely Dr Amy Chan
Kit-ling, Mr Abraham Chan Yu-ling, Mr Chau Yui-chi, Ms Yolanda Ng Yuen-ting,
Mr Joseph Wan Kwok-hung and Ms Brenda Wu Shuk-yin, and the appointment of Ms
Celine Ho Ming-wai as the Council's new member, are also announced.
All the appointments will be effective from October 1, 2010.
Established in 1987, the Council is an independent statutory body to advise
the Government on matters related to smoking and health. It is also tasked
to advance public education concerning the effects of smoking on the
community and the individual as well as to engage in smoking-related
research.
