SFH deeply concerned about loss of baby dead body at Eastern Hospital
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, today (January 6) expressed
deep concern over the incident involving the loss of the dead body of a baby
in Pamel Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. He offered his most sincere
condolences to the family of the baby boy.
Dr Chow said it was a serious incident. He has instructed the Hospital
Authority (HA) to thoroughly investigate into the matter, track down the
causes of the blunder and put forward remedial measures to prevent similar
incidents from happening again.
"I express my deep regret at the incident. What is most important now is
that HA and the hospital work together with the Police to find out what is
happening and give an account of the incident. They should also explain the
case, arrange appropriate counselling and follow up to the family," Dr Chow
said.
