Live pig supply remains stable
In response to press enquiries, a spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said
today (January 15) that the recent live pig supply in Hong Kong was stable, with
an average daily supply of 4,000 head. The overall live pig supply in Hong Kong
today is about 4,100 head.
We understand that the imported live pig supply will be maintained at the level
of about 4,000 head per day in the next one to two days.
In addition to live pigs, chilled pork supply is also adequate, and can be
further increased to meet market demand.
The authority would continue to keep in view the overall situation of pork
supply, the spokesman said.
