Appointments to Hospital Authority

        The Government announced today (December 1) the appointment of Dr Hon Kwok Ka-ki, Dr Hon Joseph Lee Kok-long, Ms Vivien Chan, Prof Fok Tai-fai and Mr Lee Luen-wai, and the re-appointment of Mr Edward Ho Sing-tin, as members of the Hospital Authority (HA) for a period of two years with immediate effect.

        Dr Hon Kwok Ka-ki is a member of the Legislative Council from the medical functional constituency and is a private urologist by profession; Dr Hon Lee Kok-long is a member of the Legislative Council from the health services functional constituency and an Assistant Professor at the Open University of Hong Kong; Ms Vivien Chan is a solicitor; Prof Fok Tai-fai is Dean of Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Mr Lee Luen-wai, a professional accountant, is a managing director of a listed company.

        The Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, Dr York Chow, thanked outgoing members of the HA, Mrs Mong Ko Mei-yee, Mr Clifton Chiu Chi-cheong and Prof Judy Tsui Lam Sin-lai, for their advice and contribution to the HA. They retired from the board today.

        As of today, the HA comprises a chairman, 19 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the HA. The new membership list for the board is as follows:
