SHWF visits UK to share experience on health issues
The Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, Dr Yeoh Eng-kiong, will start a packed visit in the United Kingdom tomorrow (April 22) to exchange views with the British health officials and health leaders from around the world at an international forum.
On the first day of his visit, Dr Yeoh will hold discussions with the Minister of State for Health, the Rt Hon John Hutton, and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Lords to the Department of Health, Lord Warner of Brockley. He will also meet with the Health Select Committee of the United Kingdom Parliament.
On the same day, Dr Yeoh will address a lunch hosted by the Hong Kong Association for business leaders in the United Kingdom and update them on Hong Kong's situation, in particular the health area.
Dr Yeoh will call on the Health Protection Agency on April 23 (UK time) to exchange views with its officials on issues related to health protection, prevention and control of communicable diseases, and laboratory surveillance.
In the afternoon, Dr Yeoh will exchange views and share experience at the Cambridge International Health Leadership Programme with health leaders from around the world on a wide range of issues, centering on the theme "Transforming Health: From Policy to Action". He has been invited to be a faculty member of the Programme.
Dr Yeoh will return to Hong Kong on Sunday (April 25).
