Applications invited for Health Care and Promotion Fund
The Health, Welfare and Food Bureau is inviting applications for funding under the Health Care and Promotion Fund (HCPF).
The invitation is specifically aimed at non-research health-promotion projects from non-profit-making organisations, registered community groups or groups formed under registered non-profit-making bodies.
A spokesman for the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau said the fund was established by the Government in May 1995 to raise awareness of the importance of health promotion and disease prevention.
"The HCPF supports projects that help people to adopt healthier life styles by enhancing awareness, changing behaviour or creating an environment that supports good health practices," the spokesman said.
Funding consideration will be given to projects on health promotion with an emphasis on community participation or community development.
The closing date for applications is June 30. All applications will be assessed by the Health Care and Promotion Fund Committee and its sub-committee, comprising healthcare professionals and experts, individuals closely involved in community affairs and Government representatives. Successful applicants may be awarded full or partial support normally nOteXcEediNg$0,0 Onaone
